Michael Begatto
Michael Begatto is the Executive Director of Council 81 AFSCME AFL-CIO in Delaware. He has served as the president of the State Federation of the AFL-CIO from 1997 until 2003. He is considered one of Delaware’s most influential lobbyists for the working men and women in Delaware. Under his leadership, the AFL-CIO reorganized and restructured its Executive Board to reflect the diversity of its membership. He also tripled the amount of funds available for serving its members.
Begatto’s dedication to community service includes his record as the state’s youngest Big Brother, leading numerous United Way campaigns, and fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware and the Leukemia Society of America.
